Updates of Qian Yun Hui’s death (4): the speculate about what was happening at that time

M: some news about that case of head of village.
M: do you like to hear?
U: tell me
U: i’m all ears
M: The people from the netizent investigation groups didn’t get evidence of murder
M: and two groups made two reporters saying that according to their preliminary investigation, it’s a traffic accident.
M: but there was a conflict : http://www.coolder.com/iblog/?p=2159
M: The atmosphere in that village and other villages are terrible.
M: The villagers are afraid of being arrested.
U: the plot thickens
U: building up
M: Have you seen the link? All the four groups have left that village.
(Note: Just now, I saw the announcement of one group on its micro-blog saying that they still have lawyers and netizens working there)
M: Now there are other speculates
M: One is like this: Mr. Qian was called and then he went to the site.
M: He saw some people and thought they might arrest him.
M: So he ran or fought with those people
M: and then that truck came.
U: wow…seems like a lot of trouble over an accident
U: so many police
U: how’s the new couch and sauna
M: wait a moment
U: you disappeared
U: vanished
M: why sauna?
M: I think maybe not many police.
U: a sauna is relaxing
M: It’s said that the gov’t likes to hire some people to arrest people for them
U: and in such cold weather you should have one
M: It’s said that they get payment of RMB200 if they arrest one person for the police.
U: the photos showed many police
M: It’s on Jan. 1
U: great way to start the new year
M: It’s a 7th festival after the death. A big day for Chinese custom.
U: yes….i see
M: wait a moment,
M: so now it’s important to talk to that person who called Mr. Qian before his death. But so far, no one from the investigation groups or reporters can get contact with him. He has got arrested soon after the death of Mr. Qian.
U: what are the charges?
U: why was he arrested?
M: The police said that he offended the law.
M: They always have reasons. That’s why the people have so much fear
M: Recently, a reporter was brought away by the police saying that he might take drugs, and had a test.
M: Now he is released but the people have more fear there.
M: It’s said that when that group led by that professor went to a hotel at the beginning, they couldn’t get enough food for their breakfast that day.
M: can you image why?
U: no i can’t imagine
M: Becaue a lot of plainclothes police followed them and moved in that hotel.
M: They had so big appitetes.
M: that they ate a lot and the hotel didn’t expect that.
U: and they ate their food
M: They ate the food from the hotel.
M: and the taxpayers paid for it.
M: So the hotel can’t offer enough food for the professors.
M: it’s so ironic
M: can you understand it?
U: it all seems so strange to me
U: its a totally different world
M: (nod)
M: I just saw a posting saying a young man was beat to death when he and their villagers went to protect their land.
M: and an older news said that a laywer was executed
U: executed for what?
M: The case of that young man just happened
M: for triad
M: it’s really sad.
M: It’s a case about that hit triad in Chongqing.
M: Do you remember that photo that the tank patroled on the street
M: on the National Day?
M: It’s that city.
U: yes
M: it’s past midnight.
U: i know
M: You heard all such stuff. Maybe you will have a nightmare
U:  sorry your landlord was busy moving things into your place
U: and sorry you did not get a sauna
M: they are moving the stuff to their rooms now. They will move more later
M: They move a big desk to my room
M: I’m using it  now
M: double of my old desk.
U: the desk or sauna?
M: table
U: a sauna is better
U: but a table is nice
M: yeah.
M: and a sofa will come later.
U: so you can lay down and chat
U: and be comfortable
M: hehe
U: haha
M: oh, the sofa is too big to move in so no sofa
M: if the speculate is true, what should be the punishment for all the people involved.
U: which people?
U: the police?
U: or the protesters?
M: the people who fought with Mr. Qian and the driver
U: they should be arrested and charged with murder
M: oh. Still a murder.
M: http://www.coolder.com/forum/1961-1-1

M: you can see the photo. The position of yellow flowers is where Mr. Qian died.
M: It should have a fought or something happened. Otherwise, no reason for a truck to go so far to another direction’s traffic lane to run over a person.
M: The truck is from left to right. Should be in the lane where the red car was
U: seems this story and event keeps you busy with your blog
M: From Christmas, I’ve been acting like a detective and reporter without payment.
M: I want justice.
M: for this man.
U: you really have a passion for this
M: If you are a Chinese, you will have such a passion too.
M: Almost the whole country’s netizens have been working like this these days.
M: Some even went to the scene to look at it themselves.
M: Still some netizens stay at that place now.
M: The Chinese people are eager for truth.
U: i hope the chinese will grow in desire for finding the truth
U: from the photos it looks as if many were curious as to what was happening
M: There were fighting.
M: Such things have been happening around the country for a few years
M: since micro-blogs get popular, the news spread faster than before.
M: This fun part is that whatever the authorities say, the people just don’t believe it.
M: When a person shows the same opinion as the authorities’ opinion, he/she will become a bad man in the public’s eyes.
M: The credibility is damn low of our gov’t now.
U: i have to go now
U: sorry
M: no problem.
U: you have much to say
M: I also need to go.
U: see you tomorrow
U: (hug)
U: good night
M: see you (hug)
M: good night

Updates of Qian Yun Hui’s death (3): some people were arrested in the conflict between police and villagers on Jan. 1 (images)

Jan. 1, 2010 (Beijing time) is the 7th day after Mr. Qian’s death. According to the Chinese custom, it had a big festival for people to show their respect etc. to the one who passed away.

According to some postings online, there were more than 10,000 local people that went to this festival to show their condolences and repect to Mr. Qian. According to the photos, there were also a lot of armed police and police dogs. Some local people and onlookers got beaten and arrested.

Now, netizens are forwarding a posting saying that a female local netizen got arrested when she was broadcasting the situation with photos and words with her micro-blogs. The last message said, “Netizens. Remember to burn some paper for me when I’m arrested. I will go with Qian Yunhui.”

Below are some photos of the site:

It’s said that below is the news announcement that the local gov’t delivered to the media about this event. All are lies so it’s not worth my time to translate it:

I don’t think I know what is right or wrong for the Chinese people

M: what are you doing now, by the way?
U: just catching up on news
U: and chatting with you of course
M: oh, I have a big news about China.
U: oh really
U: there is a revolution going on now?
M: http://www.coolder.com/iblog/?p=2088
M: a sensational event
U: wow
U: you think this could blow up?
M: do you think it’s a murder or a car accident?
U: appears to be murder
M: A poll is started about it on the website.
M: so for, 84 casted a vote. All think it’s a murder.
U: 84 – 0
M: yeah
M: the posture of the victim is wierd if it’s an accident.
U: maybe you need to have a party official cast 84 votes to hamonize the poll
M: (mm)
M: He died in Christmas. Someone posted the photos some websites and a huge number of Chinese people got furious.
M: then the local authorities made a press conference saying it’s a traffic accident.
M: but the people don’t believe it. Then the higher position authorities say that they would investigate again since so many people got furious.
U: maybe next they will say the photos are fake
M: Just now, another press conference was held by the higher authorities.
M: They still said that it’s a traffic accident.
M: But there are some good news also.
M: Four groups of netizen volunteers set off to that place now to do their investigation.
M: one group have arrived.
M: Other people just wait and watch and donate to those people to show support if they like.
U: lets hope that the army dosen’t come in to halt the investgation
M: A reporter there has received the order to leave there now.
M: The situation is sort of tough.
M: so if there are some people who are brave enough to come there to do investigation, other people like to donate to them for their spendings.
M: The leaders of two of groups are lawyers from Beijing. One of the group is leaded by a former reporter and the rest is leaded by a professor.
M: like watching a TV series
U: it would be exciting for you to be a reporter going to investigate?
M: I hope I can come one day for such things but I’m too timid.
M: you know my organ will explode into a mess if I feel too scared.
U: that could be a problem
U: i guess things we experience in life can make us brave or timid
U: but if you feel angry enough
U: or crazy enough
U: that is when you get brave
M: maybe I already die before it.
M: Do you remember the movie “Private Ryan”
U: yes
M: There is a shot that a soldier couldn’t walk since his legs were too soft by scare.
M: so he couldn’t save his comrade
U: ok
U: well…you can still be brave behind the laptop keyboard
U: it seems authority fears words as well as action
M: 😛
M: We are supporters of those people in the front line.
U: someone has to spread the word…spread the news….make the public aware
M: sure.
M: By the way, I remember that one time, you talked with me about USA, at that time, I felt that it’s a bit boring since I didn’t know much about what you were talking about and not care about it much either. Then I thought of that I had been talking with you about China and you had patience to hear them.
M: Then I thought it should be tough for you to keep so much patient to those blah, blah.
U: i’m always curious
M: that’s good to hear
M: 🙂
U: that is how a person’s cup becomes full with knowledge….being curious
M: that’s nice.
M: very nice of you.
U: it was nice of you to send me audio file
M: 🙂
U: but of course i am nice….now i think you admit that i let you win arguments
M: First time, I saw the photos of his death. I got angry. Then, one night, I saw his father’s photo. I cried almost for one night and one day.
M: Are you moved by that photo of his father?
U: You must not let such tradgedy get to your emotions
U: good to get angry
U: you should get angry….angry enough to take action
U: using technology….which you are very good at doing….to help bring justice
M: I always feel very sad when I see seniors or children feel helpless like his father.
U: feeling sad will not help them
M: yeah.
M: that’s true.
U: the sadness must be combined with an emotion of wanting and trying to help
M: 🙂
U: and you do this…by spreading the news of such things to others
U: but you must look for ways to do this on a much larger scale
M: I met some people who worried about if the gov’t shut down micro-blogs in China.
U: to get more people in China and even Canada and USA involved
M: In fact, no worries about it.
 *** U sent guide_gb_md-2.pdf ***
U: read this….maybe this has some ideas
U: its from Reporters Without Borders
M: Twitter’s client parts can’t be blocked by firewall.
U: did you get the PDF file
M: yeah, I’m opening it.
M: That’s good information, tks
U: http://en.rsf.org/
U: I read this website on occasion
M: but I still want to be a Chinese citizen and can go in and out of China freely. 😉
U: do what you can
U: but…you have a choice to brave or not be brave
M: I don’t want to go too far from most of Chinese people.
M: About Twitter client part,
M: A guy developed it, but one day, Twitter announced that the login part would use OAuth, which need to access to Twitter.
M: I think I’m the first one who got the solution to replace that part so peoplecould avoid to access Twitter when they use Twitter’s Client part.
M: I’m glad about it. 😉
U: sounds good
M: so the people don’t need to climb that firewall every time they use Twitter.
M: 🙂
U: more like punching a hole in the GFW
M: I don’t think I know what is right or wrong for the Chinese people.
M: yeah.
M: The Chinese people choose the way they go and will bear the result.
M: As a Chinese, what I can do is to transfer as more real information as I can between the mainland of China and the world and among the Chinese people.
U: see…you are doing something brave
U: sort of
M: 🙂
U: but…your actions will get bolder in time i believe
M: yeah, I’m afraid of it, in fact.
M:  I don’t want to be a dissident or activist.
U: just be normal
M: yeah, have a peaceful, safe, interesting life
U: expressing your opinion to others is not really being dissident
U: its quite normal in fact
M: My opinions already are too different from other people around me.
U: remember what my superior officers said about opinions
M: hehe
U: so…on that note
M: in millitary
U: yes
U: time for me to go
U: to bed
M: ok.
U: and sleep
U: so tired
M: nice thatting with you again.
U: yes….always nice with you
M: (hug)good night.
U: (hug)good night

Updates of Qian Yun Hui’s death (2) :the background of event

U: hey
M: hi,
M: do you like to see some updates about the death of that head of village?
M: http://www.coolder.com/iblog/?p=2115
M: this is almost the whole work I did for this whole day.
U: wow…graphic video
M: you watched the videos? I just watched a little.
U: thats a big truck
M: yeah.
M: now it’s reported that the third witness showed up.
M: He said that the four men controled Mr. Qian and put him under the truck.
M: The first two were brought away by the police. When they showed up again to the public, they said that they saw nothing.
M: CNN, New York Times have reported it.
U: interesting
M: do you see some hints to prove it’s a murder?
U: it seems the crowd was angry
U: i think that is a big hint
M: They beat a few police officers.
M: It’s said that around 1,000 policemen came with dogs for the second fighting.
M: The background is about land.
U: i can see
M: Some land of that village were occupied by a electric power plant
M: maybe also some land were taken by the gov’t
M: After several years’ fighting,
M: it seems that the gov’t agreed to give the villagers RMB6,000,000
M: the number of villagers is around 2500
M: now the whole nation pays attention to that place
U: what part of China is it located
M: it’s said that the local gov’t agrees to give RMB38,000,000
M: Zhejiang Province
M: Leqing
M: Zhaiqiao village
U: yes…i see it
M: That’s an important problem behind this event.
M: for the whole country.
M: The gov’t collects the land from the peasants with very low price
M: then they sell the land to the estate developers etc. with very high price.
U: this is how to create a harmonious society
M: The gov’t don’t tell where those money go.
M: So it is a big chance for corruption.
M: like a black hole.
M: It’s said that many volunteers have arrived there.
M: 🙂
M: more and more information will be exposed
U: seems maybe this story will grow
M: the local  gov’t is also very nervous.
M: They have sent a few group of officers to the village
M: It’s said that those officers like to go out to work at night 😉
M: and they force the villagers to sign a paper to show that they agree that it’s a traffic accident.
U: maybe they carry some money with while getting the villagers to sign
M: If it’s a traffic accident, why do need villagers to sign a paper to agree it?
M: No, no money. It’s said if they don’t sign, they will be invited by the gov’t to “talk about it”
M: it’s said that some young men fleed away
M: it’s said that a senior said something, the gov’t took his son to beat and broke his leg.
M: so the seniors just sent their young children away.
U: gosh…its almost too strange to believe
M: but I believe it’s true.
M: It’s past midnight now.
M: but l like to tell you a Chinese black joke about it.
M: do you have time to hear it?
U: yes
U: tell me
U: lets test your joke telling ability
M: It’s said that an American president and a Chinese presidet were together and wanted to check how loyal their bodyguards were.
U: ok
M: They ordered their bodyguards to jump from the window. Anyway, they were on a high building.
M: The American bodyguard kneeled to his president crying: “I have family. Please don’t do that.”
U: ok
M: Then the president stopped.
M: The Chinese bodyguard went to the window and prepared to jump.
U: ok
M: The American president tried to stop him
M: The Chinese bodyguard cried and kneeled to the American predisent saying:
M: can you guess what he said?
M: Please don’t. I have family.
U: ha ha
U: he he
U: ha ha
M: can you understand it?
U: i understand
M: (chuckle)
M: that’s the way that the communist party likes to do.
U: i see
U: i’m glad i got to see an update on that news
M: 🙂
M: I’m following it. hope the ending isn’t too bad.
U: i will be online earlier tomorrow
M: 🙂
M: I will tell you updates about that case.
U: OK
M: hope new good information will emerge tomorrow
