I don’t think I know what is right or wrong for the Chinese people

M: what are you doing now, by the way?
U: just catching up on news
U: and chatting with you of course
M: oh, I have a big news about China.
U: oh really
U: there is a revolution going on now?
M: http://www.coolder.com/iblog/?p=2088
M: a sensational event
U: wow
U: you think this could blow up?
M: do you think it’s a murder or a car accident?
U: appears to be murder
M: A poll is started about it on the website.
M: so for, 84 casted a vote. All think it’s a murder.
U: 84 – 0
M: yeah
M: the posture of the victim is wierd if it’s an accident.
U: maybe you need to have a party official cast 84 votes to hamonize the poll
M: (mm)
M: He died in Christmas. Someone posted the photos some websites and a huge number of Chinese people got furious.
M: then the local authorities made a press conference saying it’s a traffic accident.
M: but the people don’t believe it. Then the higher position authorities say that they would investigate again since so many people got furious.
U: maybe next they will say the photos are fake
M: Just now, another press conference was held by the higher authorities.
M: They still said that it’s a traffic accident.
M: But there are some good news also.
M: Four groups of netizen volunteers set off to that place now to do their investigation.
M: one group have arrived.
M: Other people just wait and watch and donate to those people to show support if they like.
U: lets hope that the army dosen’t come in to halt the investgation
M: A reporter there has received the order to leave there now.
M: The situation is sort of tough.
M: so if there are some people who are brave enough to come there to do investigation, other people like to donate to them for their spendings.
M: The leaders of two of groups are lawyers from Beijing. One of the group is leaded by a former reporter and the rest is leaded by a professor.
M: like watching a TV series
U: it would be exciting for you to be a reporter going to investigate?
M: I hope I can come one day for such things but I’m too timid.
M: you know my organ will explode into a mess if I feel too scared.
U: that could be a problem
U: i guess things we experience in life can make us brave or timid
U: but if you feel angry enough
U: or crazy enough
U: that is when you get brave
M: maybe I already die before it.
M: Do you remember the movie “Private Ryan”
U: yes
M: There is a shot that a soldier couldn’t walk since his legs were too soft by scare.
M: so he couldn’t save his comrade
U: ok
U: well…you can still be brave behind the laptop keyboard
U: it seems authority fears words as well as action
M: 😛
M: We are supporters of those people in the front line.
U: someone has to spread the word…spread the news….make the public aware
M: sure.
M: By the way, I remember that one time, you talked with me about USA, at that time, I felt that it’s a bit boring since I didn’t know much about what you were talking about and not care about it much either. Then I thought of that I had been talking with you about China and you had patience to hear them.
M: Then I thought it should be tough for you to keep so much patient to those blah, blah.
U: i’m always curious
M: that’s good to hear
M: 🙂
U: that is how a person’s cup becomes full with knowledge….being curious
M: that’s nice.
M: very nice of you.
U: it was nice of you to send me audio file
M: 🙂
U: but of course i am nice….now i think you admit that i let you win arguments
M: First time, I saw the photos of his death. I got angry. Then, one night, I saw his father’s photo. I cried almost for one night and one day.
M: Are you moved by that photo of his father?
U: You must not let such tradgedy get to your emotions
U: good to get angry
U: you should get angry….angry enough to take action
U: using technology….which you are very good at doing….to help bring justice
M: I always feel very sad when I see seniors or children feel helpless like his father.
U: feeling sad will not help them
M: yeah.
M: that’s true.
U: the sadness must be combined with an emotion of wanting and trying to help
M: 🙂
U: and you do this…by spreading the news of such things to others
U: but you must look for ways to do this on a much larger scale
M: I met some people who worried about if the gov’t shut down micro-blogs in China.
U: to get more people in China and even Canada and USA involved
M: In fact, no worries about it.
 *** U sent guide_gb_md-2.pdf ***
U: read this….maybe this has some ideas
U: its from Reporters Without Borders
M: Twitter’s client parts can’t be blocked by firewall.
U: did you get the PDF file
M: yeah, I’m opening it.
M: That’s good information, tks
U: http://en.rsf.org/
U: I read this website on occasion
M: but I still want to be a Chinese citizen and can go in and out of China freely. 😉
U: do what you can
U: but…you have a choice to brave or not be brave
M: I don’t want to go too far from most of Chinese people.
M: About Twitter client part,
M: A guy developed it, but one day, Twitter announced that the login part would use OAuth, which need to access to Twitter.
M: I think I’m the first one who got the solution to replace that part so peoplecould avoid to access Twitter when they use Twitter’s Client part.
M: I’m glad about it. 😉
U: sounds good
M: so the people don’t need to climb that firewall every time they use Twitter.
M: 🙂
U: more like punching a hole in the GFW
M: I don’t think I know what is right or wrong for the Chinese people.
M: yeah.
M: The Chinese people choose the way they go and will bear the result.
M: As a Chinese, what I can do is to transfer as more real information as I can between the mainland of China and the world and among the Chinese people.
U: see…you are doing something brave
U: sort of
M: 🙂
U: but…your actions will get bolder in time i believe
M: yeah, I’m afraid of it, in fact.
M:  I don’t want to be a dissident or activist.
U: just be normal
M: yeah, have a peaceful, safe, interesting life
U: expressing your opinion to others is not really being dissident
U: its quite normal in fact
M: My opinions already are too different from other people around me.
U: remember what my superior officers said about opinions
M: hehe
U: so…on that note
M: in millitary
U: yes
U: time for me to go
U: to bed
M: ok.
U: and sleep
U: so tired
M: nice thatting with you again.
U: yes….always nice with you
M: (hug)good night.
U: (hug)good night
