Updates of Qian Yun Hui’s death (6): a lot of Chinese people believe “rumors” on the Internet rather than Chinese official media

Note: According to Wu Gan’s reporter about this case, the person who called Mr. Qian isn’t Mr. Wang Li Quan. According to another netizen’s posting, Mr. Wang Li Quan was at Hong Qiao town when Mr. Qian was hit by the truck. He heard Mr. Qian died and went to the scene. He took Mr. Qian’s watch and mobile phone. This watch includes a camera and a sound recorder. He tried to contact the outside world to spread the news. He made an appointment with a reporter, but he was arrested on the way to meet that reporter and that reporter received his leader’s call when he went to meet Mr. Wang. It seems that the phone of Mr. Wang Li Quan was monitored.

M: some news about that head of village.
U: ok
M: do you like to hear it?
U: yes…sure, i’m waiting
M: Just so you know, before Mr. Qian died, someone called him. Now, people think that it’s his friend Wang Li Quan. He was in jail now.
M: so the volunteers introduced two lawyers to his wife, free of charge.
M: But his wife was quite afraid. So some people adviced his wife to ask the police bureau if she could hire lawyers for his husband.
U: so…i got this info from your research or from rumors on a blog posting?
M: Anyway, these two lawyers provide their servies for free.
M: This information is from micro-blogs of related people.
M: such as the vulunteer lawyers at that village.
M: Then, they asked the advice of the elderly association of that village about this solution.
M: Those elderly people thought it’s a good idea.
M: But the problem was that no one dared to go to the police bureau to ask this question.
M: At last, they sent a mail.
M: There is a rumor that Mr. Qian is the third person of that village who died secretly.
U: maybe you can ask
M: Now, the lawyers have got the power of attorney from the family of Mr. Wang Li Quan.
M: Maybe I can ask by phone.
U: what good is all that going to do?
M: I think that the lawyers have applied to the police bureau to meet Mr. Wang Li Quan.
M: soon, more information will emerge.
U: i mean….it sounds as if the police are involved in the murders and the officials are trying to cover it up
M: This information isn’t the good news I meantioned.
M: Maybe some people sent by the local gov’t, not police.
M: I have told you about a netizen volunteer named Wu Gan.
U: yes
M: He has got a lot of information and posted them.
U: and soon he will be arrested
M: Mr. Qian and Mr. Wang have sold some land of that village to the villagers and collected RMB710,000.
M: They used those money to sue some officers of the local gov’t and petition.
M: They hired a lawyer with RMB400,000 in Beijing.
M: but that lawyer took their money and cheated them.
M: Mr. Qian gave some money to a reporter of an official newpaper.
M: That reporter took him money and did nothing.
U: and so will these lawyers
M: Then Mr. Qian and Mr. Wang were arrested and Mr. Qian was sentenced for 3 years since they sold that land to the villageres.
M: Mr. Wang also was sentenced. Maybe 3 years in jail too.
M: Mr. Qian was released about half a year ago, I think, and then he died.
M: Now, Mr. Wu Gan posted some information about that lawyer.
M: The netizens started to human-powered search. Now, that lawyer’s information and photo are everywhere.
M: Now, I think that the netizens are busy on searching that reporter.
U: how about you…are you busy searching
M: now, I just wait to see the result and forward it. 🙂
M: Another information,
M: Mr. Qian and their villagers not just petitioned or went to Beijing to sue some officiers.
M: They blocked the road so some instruction of that electric power of plant could be delayed. That plant occupies their land without their permission.
U: how long you think until some result?
M: They have been fighting about it.
M: soon. When the lawyers meet Mr. Wang, the things may be clear.
M: There is another speculate.
M: Mr. Wang called Mr. Qian to block that truck. That truck worked for that plant.
M: Then the security guards came.
M: there might be some fighting
M: Sometimes, the fighting between the people sent by the gov’t and some ordinary people may be more severe that the fighting in Afghanistan or Iraq.
M: I mean in China.
U: like a civil war
M: (nod)
M: The people die one by one.
M: if the people sent by the gov’t die, a lot of the netizens would show happiness
M: if the ordinary people die, a lot of the netizens will curse at the gov’t.
M: Anyway, Chinese ordinary people have no right to own a weapon, so most of the time, the ordinary people die.
U: these are events that the media dosen’t report
M: Most of the Chinese people think that the information on the Internet like micro-blogs are more believeable than the official media.
M: Maybe Americans don’t take the information from the Internet serious.
M: Chinese people like to trust the “rumors” on the Internet.
M: If the CCTV of China say something is true and the Internet say it’s false, I think, most of people would believe that it’s false.
U: i think americans believe rumors on the internet as well
M: like wikileaks
