Updates of Qian Yun Hui’s death (2) :the background of event

U: hey
M: hi,
M: do you like to see some updates about the death of that head of village?
M: http://www.coolder.com/iblog/?p=2115
M: this is almost the whole work I did for this whole day.
U: wow…graphic video
M: you watched the videos? I just watched a little.
U: thats a big truck
M: yeah.
M: now it’s reported that the third witness showed up.
M: He said that the four men controled Mr. Qian and put him under the truck.
M: The first two were brought away by the police. When they showed up again to the public, they said that they saw nothing.
M: CNN, New York Times have reported it.
U: interesting
M: do you see some hints to prove it’s a murder?
U: it seems the crowd was angry
U: i think that is a big hint
M: They beat a few police officers.
M: It’s said that around 1,000 policemen came with dogs for the second fighting.
M: The background is about land.
U: i can see
M: Some land of that village were occupied by a electric power plant
M: maybe also some land were taken by the gov’t
M: After several years’ fighting,
M: it seems that the gov’t agreed to give the villagers RMB6,000,000
M: the number of villagers is around 2500
M: now the whole nation pays attention to that place
U: what part of China is it located
M: it’s said that the local gov’t agrees to give RMB38,000,000
M: Zhejiang Province
M: Leqing
M: Zhaiqiao village
U: yes…i see it
M: That’s an important problem behind this event.
M: for the whole country.
M: The gov’t collects the land from the peasants with very low price
M: then they sell the land to the estate developers etc. with very high price.
U: this is how to create a harmonious society
M: The gov’t don’t tell where those money go.
M: So it is a big chance for corruption.
M: like a black hole.
M: It’s said that many volunteers have arrived there.
M: 🙂
M: more and more information will be exposed
U: seems maybe this story will grow
M: the local  gov’t is also very nervous.
M: They have sent a few group of officers to the village
M: It’s said that those officers like to go out to work at night 😉
M: and they force the villagers to sign a paper to show that they agree that it’s a traffic accident.
U: maybe they carry some money with while getting the villagers to sign
M: If it’s a traffic accident, why do need villagers to sign a paper to agree it?
M: No, no money. It’s said if they don’t sign, they will be invited by the gov’t to “talk about it”
M: it’s said that some young men fleed away
M: it’s said that a senior said something, the gov’t took his son to beat and broke his leg.
M: so the seniors just sent their young children away.
U: gosh…its almost too strange to believe
M: but I believe it’s true.
M: It’s past midnight now.
M: but l like to tell you a Chinese black joke about it.
M: do you have time to hear it?
U: yes
U: tell me
U: lets test your joke telling ability
M: It’s said that an American president and a Chinese presidet were together and wanted to check how loyal their bodyguards were.
U: ok
M: They ordered their bodyguards to jump from the window. Anyway, they were on a high building.
M: The American bodyguard kneeled to his president crying: “I have family. Please don’t do that.”
U: ok
M: Then the president stopped.
M: The Chinese bodyguard went to the window and prepared to jump.
U: ok
M: The American president tried to stop him
M: The Chinese bodyguard cried and kneeled to the American predisent saying:
M: can you guess what he said?
M: Please don’t. I have family.
U: ha ha
U: he he
U: ha ha
M: can you understand it?
U: i understand
M: (chuckle)
M: that’s the way that the communist party likes to do.
U: i see
U: i’m glad i got to see an update on that news
M: 🙂
M: I’m following it. hope the ending isn’t too bad.
U: i will be online earlier tomorrow
M: 🙂
M: I will tell you updates about that case.
U: OK
M: hope new good information will emerge tomorrow

I have to point out, that by now there is still no direct evidence which can prove the incident as a murder. A lot of information on your blog are also based on internet rumors and can be doubtful. the thing is our government has this habit to block every information to the public just in case it get out of control; and it is by doing so that makes people tend to rather believe and spread “rumors” than believe in the authority. Moreover the fact that people “tend to” believe this as a murder shows a great distrust to the government and the whole society is in an furious stage against the corrupted authority, this is the real threat to the country. A government that has lost its reputation amoung its own people is just disastrous.

All the information on this blog is collected on the Internet. I use the words “it’s said”. I think it means the information that’s not confirmed. I don’t think that I can make sure which are false or which are true. I also don’t think you can make sure which is true or false. Already a lot of “rumors” from the Internet have proved they are truth in the mainland of China. Enough of them so that more and more Chinese people believe the “rumors” from the Internet instead of the statements from the gov’t. That’s why the “rumors” can be so spreaded and be believed widely this time.

The only thing we can make sure now is that we have a very corrupt gov’t and it covered and covers a lot of dirty stuff they have done and are doing. As an ordinary Chinese people, we need transparency of the gov’t. If no transparency, no one can assert that the information from the Internet are false and what the gov’t say are truth.

I come from China. I have been to many places of China, from the villages to the metropolis. How to pick up the information from the Internet is also based on my life experience. By the way, so far, I believe them myself. I’m also waiting to see more information to check them.

      Thanks for your comment.

I have seen some very good progress of China from this event. It’s really good for this country. I’m glad of it. It’s that the ordinary people have more space for speech and the gov’t is forced to open a bit more, instead of just being a black box. With more and more efforts of people, the gov’t will open more and more. I think it shows the hope that the gov’t will get less corrupt and more transparent and the mainland of China will turns into a modern and civilized country.

I’m not to doubt your information. in fact I’m grateful that you posted them here. I mean if it’s based on “rumors” at least some people will argue and not to believe either side easily untill enough solid evidence has been shown, but from the forum (which hasn’t been “harmonised” yet) you can see 99% if not 100% of comment almost believe it’s a murder for certain and doubt every single word released from the police. I think some people are using this incident as a way to release their long accumulated anger against the government.

so what takes my attention is not the incident itself. it seems to me that the government has already lost all its credite and reputation, whatever they say even if they were telling the truth, nobody believes it. and if people don’t have even a basic trust to the government, giving a pressure high enough (like the recent inflation) any tiny “spark” would blow the whole country up.

I stongly agree with you that transparency is the only way to restore public trust but sadly our gov’t (especially local gov’t) seems hasn’t realised it and doesn’t care at all. how do you expect transparency if this is the only english website i can find that are not blocked by the fire wall and nearly the only place I can write down my comment without worrying about beeing deleted? so overall I’m pessimistic, the gov’t is likely to just handle it as usual, controling witness and evidence. without enough info and evidence the independant volunteer can hardly draw a conclution and giving enough time people will just forget this, but still I admire their action and hope things can be a little different this time. by the way I am not fully convinced to believe this as either a murder or accident.

In some way, we have the similar opinion. In another way, our opinions are slightly different.

Most of the Chinese officers know the situation more than any of us. I’m in Canada now. There are a lot of families of our Chinese officers around me. Why do they send their families abroad and live themselves lonely in China ? They know much more than us and they knew it much earlier than us about China.

A gov’t is consisted of officers. For our country, absolutely most of them are put on their positions not because they are noble or capable. It’s generally because they have connection with some high position officers and servility.

Maybe some officers want to do something for the people, instead of just collecting money. But their situation can be more dangerous than other corrupt officers like Mr. Qian Yunhui.

I don’t worry about this gov’t, in fact, I don’t care about this gov’t. If they keep greedy and brazen, it will be gone. A new one will come. I just care about the people. The Chinese people also are responsible for this situation of China. I hope our people can become wise. The people need more information to be wise. That’s why I post such information here.

I’m not that pessimistic. Look at the history of China, if we had such a talk around 50 years ago in the mainland of China, we might be executed. Around 30 years ago, we might be put in jail for several years. Now, we even don’t need to enter a re-education camp for it. That’s a progress.

The progress is from fighting. Thanks for those brave people who fought and are fighting to get more human right.

By the way, I just read another report saying that it may be a traffic from those netizen investigation groups. I feel peaceful somehow now, and I’m still waiting for more information. I care about every individual who is suffering. I care about the evidence and process.

Interestingly enough, I cannot find a hint on Facebook about this incident. I can normally find at least one shred to post something but it looks like the Chinese Gov’t. has power even over Facebook.

Long live the freedom fighters of China! Qian Yun Hui, rest in peace – you will not be forgotten.
