The cheapest way to go back and forth between Toronto and Pearson Airport: CDN$5

The 58A and 192 TTC buses go back and forth between Toronto and Pearson Airport. It only costs CDN$5 to go back and forth between Toronto and Pearson Airport if you ride those TTC buses with tokens, or CDN$6 in cash. Anyway, if you pay by cash, it’s better to prepare some coins because the driver won’t give you changes

In addition, there are several car rental companies near the airport office, where you can temporarily rent a car. There is also a cafe shop near the airport, you have a cup of coffee there, so the parking can be free.

Rent a car in Toronto with picture

I have rented compact cars in Toronot two times. I have done some homework on car rental in Toronto, and I like to share it here.

For the first time, I rent a car from National (http://www.nationalcar.ca) for one day from its office in Fareview mall in 2009, with Damage Loss Waiver (DLW) fee, it was CDN $64.50 for one day in Apirl. Basic rate is CDN$33, $23 for DLW.  This year, I found that that office was sold to the car rental company, Enterprise.com. In my impression, they have one way rental.

For the second time, I rent a car from Avis (http://www.avis.ca) for one day from its office in Sheppard Ave. / Kennedy Ave. in 2010. It’s CDN $41.61 for one day in May without  DLW, just basic rate since my visa offers an insurance about renting cars. No kelometre limit but no one-way rental too.

I have tried Discount (http://www.discountcar.com/English/)  . The rate was a bit higher and they asked me to pay extra CDN$10 because I only have a G2 driving license.  When I entered their office, I got an impression that they seemed they were not working on renting out cars, maybe because I just wanted to rent a compact car or my English is challenging.

I had tried Advantage (http://www.advantagecarrentals.com ). At that time, their cars were all rent out. Just now, I checked their website. The rate is attractive as below. No wonder that their cars were all rent out that time, but according to In-city policis on their website, it only allows 200 km/day, and a “G” class license or equivalent is needed:

There is another car rental company, I haven’t tried it: http://www.thrifty.com/

Generally, you can use your visa to rent a car, otherwise a deposit is needed.  The time is caculated by days. In downtown of Toronto, some company rents out cars by hours.

Below is one of the cars I rent before. They are all quite new and nice :):
