Before, I had an impression that the western countries had such a good relationship that they always shared everything. This impression first was from the historic story: 8 western countries’ coalition attacked Beijing in 1900 and burnt the Summer Palace, which is taken as a national humiliation in China, and then from Chinese official media. The news gave me an impression that the western countries always bullied China together and China was always brave and not afraid of them.

Especially USA and Canada can almost be a same country. In China, there is an opinion that Canada is the backyard of USA.

Later on, I talked with a Canadian. I asked him a few questions, which are all about USA. I can’t remeber all the questions. I just remembered the last question is about the USA’s former president Washington. He thought a moment and then said: “He was America’s president. I don’t care.”

I chatted with an European guy online. He said: “When I transferred the airplane in USA, I met a group of Americans. I kept away from them. I was afraid that someone would think that I was an American and kill me.”

I saw a few photos online. The poster explained that the people with Canadian flags on the package in the photos were Americans. When they travelled abroad, they pretended they were Canadians.

I have seen more and more difference amony them, not just because of chatting with those people, mainly because I read a lot on the Internet. And I have a new impression that it’s true that the western countries always bully China together, but Chinese gov. isn’t brave at all and very afraid. This government just likes to talk big at home and sacrifice Chinese people’s benefits to foreigners without a notice.
