“The dust storms help some Taiwaneses’ dream come true”

First, it’s a black humour. I saw it from someone’ signature on MSN. The signature said that some Taiwaneses like to say that they want to smell the soil of their hometown in the mainland of China. The dust storms from the mainland of China realize those Taiwaneses’ 60-year-old dreams.

Here is the background:

Back in 1949, Chinese Communist party occupied the mainland of China. Its rival Kuomintang ran to Taiwan. The two areas were isolated from each other since then. Now the situation has improved. Those people from the mainland of China in Taiwan haven’t visited their homeland for 60 years. Some of them told the media that they want to smell the soil of their hometown in the mainland of China again. It’s an Chinese expression that means that they miss their hometown.

On March, 2010, the dust storms from Mongolia, through China’s southern Xinjiang region and northern areas, and finally hit Taiwan.
