When I returned from Hongkong three years ago, I stayed in Shenzhen. I found that it’s quite economic to travel in Hongkong but stay in Shenzhen city.

I stayed in a hotel named Top Star Hotel, which My cyber friend recommended to me. It’s one of a Top Star Hotel chain. It’s economic. The price is around RMB200 (about $30) for a room. It’s clean and quiet. And it’s quite close to Lo Hu port. Just a few minutes away from the port by foot. 

Hongkong is a quite friendly city but the fruit and food is amazing in Shenzhen. The prices of goods and services are much lower than Hongkong. I quite enjoyed the tropic fruit,food and lower prices in Shenzhen.

Just if you do so, you need to arrange your time carefully, to avoid that the port is closed and you can’t return the hotel in Shenzhen.
