Both Chinese and American people were shocked: the mayor took $25,000 bribe

I saw this post from a famous Chinese TV host, Cui Yongyuan and translate it here:

Chinese and American people were shocked: the mayor took $25,000 bribe

December 2009, the city of Hoboken, New Jersey, USA, two mayors, one deputy mayor, two state legislators, 44 Jewish clergies, as alleged bribery and money laundering, was arrested by the FBI. Cammarano,  former mayor accused of taking bribes $ 25,000 . This case is considered the largest in U.S. history of corruption and bribery case. I’m really shocked.

In the mainland of China, if an Chinese corrupt officer took bribes just worth of $25,000, the whole country can be shocked and moved. Even a corrupt secretary of a major, or a corrupt head of a small village can take bribes far more than it in the mainland of China. In fact, just a head of a middle school in the mainland of China may collect more bribes than this major and avoid any punishment.

Here is a case: A former deputy director general of public security bureau fleed to USA and brought $20 million with him. One of his crimes is that he killed a person and another one fleed. This former officer collected that man’s properties with some of his colleagues. This former officer died of cancer and a victim of that case is still requesting the return of his property now.
