Chinese Great Hall of People’s bathrooms have catched up with U.S. Capitol Hill’s bathrooms

U: :^)
M: 😛
M: that’s yesterday’s message
U: so you’re an angel now?
U: oh
U: i see
U: 12:12am
M: last night, I was an angel.
M: Now, maybe a tiger 😉
U: i’m frightened
M: I show you something very interesting
M: http://www.coolder.com/iblog/?p=2749
U: ha ha
U: funny
M: 😛
U: very good
M: which one is the most funny?
U: the last one
U: in perspective of the photos before that
U: it was a great build up
M: very harmonious.
U: must be an easy job being politboro member
M: no such word: politboro
U: how do you say it
U: or spell it
M: parliament member?
U: in china it is called something else
M: Ours are representives of people.
U: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Politboro
U: politburo
U: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Politburo_of_the_Communist_Party_of_China
M: oh,
M: they are members of NPC
U: whatever
U: its not a parliment
M: politburo should be senate
U: they are not elected in free elections
U: so you can’t say its a parliment
M: they are chosen by the officials
U: right
M: in the name of a parliment.
M: There is a woman
U: its not the definition of parliment
M: who is 80-year-old
U: really
U: she sleeps too.
M: She has participated all the NPC sessions from the very beginning of PRC
U: she must be a good sleeper
M: she has never voted a “no” vote, all are yeses
U: of course
M: that’s why she could be chosen to participate all the sessions
M: Another two sessions of NPC and CPPCC will be held recently.
M: Those “representives” will make more traffic jams in Beijing.
U: why…do they fall asleep while driving
M: The traffic will have to give up the road for their vehicles
U: yes…they are very important people
M: Some drivers drive buses or cars for them.
U: they have to be there to vote “yes”
M: yeah.
M: People say we don’t need them. Just need 4500 fake persons and dozens of machines of applauding.
U: maybe thats what it really is
M: that will save a lot of money.
M: It’s said that last sessions, every representive was given a computer notebook.
U: thats nice
M: Someone asks that this time, will they be given iphones?
U: i’m sure they can access google and youtube
M: that’s all the taxpayers’ money.
M: It’s said that it spent around RMB $1.5 million to decorate three bashrooms of the Great Hall.
U: and that makes it the peoples money
M: around $230,000
U: should be so clean that they can drink straight from the toilet
M: 😛
M: How much will it spend to decorate a bashroom for the U.S. Capitol Hill?
U: probably the same
U: fyi…bathroom
M: oh, i c.
M: It shows that our Great Hall’s bathrooms have catched up with U.S. Capitol Hill’s bathrooms
M: Our representives and gov’t should feel proud of it.
U: no doubt china has entered the 21st century
M: sure for the bathrooms of the Great Hall
U: have you ever used the bathroom in the Great Hall?
U: what a thrill it must be
M: A famous person said on TV that around 30 million Chinese people can’t get enough food to eat in 2008.
M: Han han has written an essay about those bathrooms saying that he wants to use it.
M: Canada’s population is just 30 millions or so
U: thats a lot of people
U: is this true
M: yeah
U: but this is not in the big cities is it
U: maybe the countryside
M: most in remote area
M: but some poor families still can’t get enough food in big cities.
M: for example, they get illness
M: or something like that
M: people don’t have enough welfare in China
M: if a family has a disaster, they have to struggle for themselves generally.
U: its so sad
U: communism can be so cruel
M: but the ironic thing is that some people who can’t get enough food can be quite proud of that China held 2008 Olympics.
U: sometimes pride can be very strange
M: Maybe they are proud that the bathroom in the Great hall can catch up with the U.S. Capitol Hill’s bathroom. If it overtakes its counterpart, they may be thrilled.
U: i think if they just two more toilets…then they can have a celebration parade in Beijing
M: a lot of people can’t afford to go to Beijing
U: then they can watch on TV or internet
U: and wave that beautiful red flag with the gold stars
M: Some people really watch on TV and proud of the Olympics even though they may have no chance to visit Beijing in their whole life.
M: that’s “China’s logic” works
M: House of Represnetatives = NPC (National Congress of Communist Party of China)
Senate = CPPCC (the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference)
U: not really equals
M: I looked them up. The left is USA’s
U: because they are not elected
M: if they are elected, they should be similar
U: of course
U: well said
M: there is a popular saying in China: NPC: raise fists, CPPCC: applaud.
M: understand?
U: i understand
M: really?
U: sort of a strange saying though
M: the humour is lost by the translation, somehow.
U: write it in chinese
M: If speak in Chinese, the sounds are wonderful.政协拍手,人大举拳。
U: i’m sure from your beautiful voice it is very wonderful
M: 😛
U: maybe you can record it
U: and send to me
U: 🙂
M: you can put them on translate.google.com
M: and then press “listen”
U: really
U: but it won’t be the same as your voice
M: the two sentences has the same number of words
U: i see that
M: the ending tone is close.
U: chinese has very nice characters
M: ancient Chinese people spent too much time to make the words and sentences sounds or looks nices but ignored science
M: so we are left behind
U: well…language is a beautiful thing
M: yeah.
U: and the queens english is the best
U: so versatile
U: and can be used and twisted and stretched in so many ways
M: 🙂
U: thats why english humor is best
U: so many ways to play with words
M: now people like simple, fast way to communicate.
M: like fastfood
U: thats just my opinion of course
U: ha ha
U: like skype
M: yeah. if you speak like that queen’s speech,
M: can you image it?
M: I will look up very often
M: it’s past midnight.
M: are you already gone?
U: no
U: but i can do an english accent very well
M: do you mean by “queen’s english”? Britain English?
U: sort of like an Oxford accent
M: I may misunderstand it.
U: english in general
M: oh,
U: but
U: it was invented in england of course
U: so…its owned by the queen
M: 🙂
M: what about American english?
U: what about it
M: is it owned by the queen?
U: i think so
U: it is english
M: oh.
